I recently remixed and remastered ‘Scary Poppins’ and I decided to make the new versions available as a reissue. It will also include a previously unavailable alternate version of ‘Scapegoat’. All the tracks are available as free downloads (at 320 kbps) on Soundcloud.

Shipwreck is the 5th track on Advice To The Wayfarer. It has been described as acid rock, neo-psychedelia, jazz fusion and space rock.
Voir Un Ami Pleurer is the 14th track on Advice To The Wayfarer. It was written by Jacques Brel and recorded in 1977. The song is in French and the title translates to ‘Watching a friend cry’.
Plastic Bars is the 13th track on Advice To The Wayfarer. It is the oldest song from the album as it was written in 2000. It was played live by my first band Generic between 2001 and 2004.
Intermission Nightmare is the 7th track on Advice To The Wayfarer. It was originally written in 2010 but excluded from the album Scary Poppins as it seemed too creepy. Until 2013 it was instrumental and contained no electric guitar, percussion or bass.
Scapegoat – Alternate is a different version of the song Scapegoat which became track 1 on Scary Poppins (2010). In the New York Music Daily, Delarue described the final version as “a swirly, creepy 6/8 anthem, psychedelic 60s gone noir cabaret with 80s goth production: watery guitars, icy keys and vintage Bowie-esque vocals.”
New songs uploaded from Advice To The Wayfarer
Some previously unavailable songs from my forthcoming album “Advice To The Wayfarer” are now free to download on Soundcloud. The first, titled Everafter has been likened to David Bowie (surprise surprise), Peter Hammill and Benjamin Britten. I’m told that it sounds like a combination of operatic folk, art rock, contemporary classical and baroque pop. Genres remain a mystery to me so I can’t really comment on that.
The most recent song I’ve uploaded is called Private Playground. It is allegedly a combination of Mod revival, soul, British beat, power pop, freakbeat, psych folk, britpop and Mod R&B. I’ve been informed that it’s reminiscent of The Who, the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, the Beatles and Pink Floyd. It’s quite unlike anything I’ve written before due to it’s noticeably upbeat nature.
Hi Aphrodite (new version)
The new version of my 2nd album ‘Hi Aphrodite’ features louder vocals and a few other changes. All the tracks are available as free downloads (at 320 kbps) on Soundcloud.
Revamped songs from Hi Aphrodite
As a result of copious requests from listeners I decided to remix songs from ‘Hi Aphrodite’ with louder vocals. The new versions can be heard below and on Soundcloud. I’ve made them available as free downloads (320 kbps).

Hi Penthus – free to download mp3s at 320kbps
Hi Penthus was the 1st album I released under the moniker ‘The Mad Pride’. While free downloads of the songs were previously available, I recently decided to upload higher quality versions (320 kbps). I also fixed the ID3 tags which were not accurate in the mp3s which I originally uploaded back in 2010. The new mp3s can be freely downloaded from The Hi Penthus set on Soundcloud.
David Bowie, Queensrÿche & Uriah Heep?
I uploaded a new song to Soundcloud and so far it’s been compared to David Bowie, Queensrÿche & Uriah Heep. I can’t say I’m influenced by any of them as I haven’t heard much of their music. I’ve been making an effort to listen to Bowie more recently though… just to understand the comparisons really.
New Track: Playing With Fire – From Advice to the Wayfarer
Playing With Fire is from my 4th album Advice to the Wayfarer. I’m a little late posting it here but things have been crazy lately. 7 of the people who have commented on it on Soundcloud have likened it to David Bowie. It’s also been described as ‘dreamlike’, ‘atmospheric’ and ‘brooding grandeur’. I’m pretty happy with that. Oh, yeah, and here’s the song:
New Track: Prometheus – from ‘Advice to the Wayfarer’
This is another new track from my forthcoming album ‘Advice to the Wayfarer’.
So far, comparisons have been made to David Bowie, Nick Cave, The Church and Andrew Lloyd Webber. As for genre, people have called it psychedelic, deathrock and low rock. I had fun looking into ‘deathrock’ as it’s a genre I’m not particularly familiar with.
New Track: Hope Is Gone – from Advice To The Wayfarer
Here is another track from my new album “Advice To The Wayfarer”. The Bowie comparisons just keep coming thick and fast.
